Golf Course
“"The Shoe" has an absolutely throwback, old school quality to it that is hard to find in golf courses built after the 1970s. The course shows its age, but in the best way! Most of the course is flat, wide open and offers the opportunity to hit drivers on most holes and take big cuts at them. Small greens, most distinctly remnants from its early designs, make approach shot accuracy and proper club selection paramount for scoring low. Located within 10 minutes from the downtown Reno casinos and 5 minutes from Peppermill and Atlantis. Its affordability, great practice facility, and full-service grill make it a perfect, convenient play for players of all levels. This scenic venue hosted its first professional tournament in 1946 and boasts among its champions none other than the legendary Ben Hogan in the 1948 Reno Open Invitational.”
